Forget allergies {ha-CHOO!}; forget having to rake; for those of us who live in Jack Frost's domain, fall is hauntingly beautiful and oh-so short.

Since talk was born, your child's heart has reveled in awed descriptions tattooed with leaping flames circling russet, lime and gold. Neat or disheveled, your painterly insistence on humongous gilt frames and tipping your brushes with all of sun's colors after rolling them drunkenly in pools of aged wine leaves us with words that are so much duller than the panoramas your patron insists you design.
Please pretend our words are pirouhetting leaves that though destined to float to earth and perish prove life is much more than labor and grief. This is a dance meant to be cherished.
An artist friend spends hours tracing points and veins. A child catches a gilt-dotted dancer for the tickle and shine. Crackle underfoot turns out to be good for all kinds of pain. Autumn, you harridan, I am making you mine!
Such beauty as seen and revealed through the eyes of someone who knows what it is to cherish each and every God-given, grace-filled moment of life - and what it is to celebrate it in all it's fullness! You express the wisdom and wonderment of the child whose mind is a pure and limitless canvas of potential. TY for this sparkling creation - and for your most wonderful heart-warming comments on my pages. Bless you, Phyllis. TY Kate x
