           Feeding Fever

The sun is shining!  Air like silk!
Creek alive with ribbiting frogs.
Limbs of every tree and shrub
are bowed with birds warming up
their pipes with warbles, tweets,
and twitters that somehow mesh
as if orchestrated.   I am in, but out
again, the pull of daffodils and star
crocuses strong enough to magnetize
my drive.  Wipe away hard thoughts
about a late blizzard.  Sleet, hail.
Yesterday's out-of-here, tomorrow's
time hasn't come.  Today!   This
nanosecond!   This blue, this green,
the bravery of wrens and cardinals,
the daring of buds hanging on for dear
life.  Nature is a trickster.  Clever
to a fault. Agreed.  Fever, what this
is.  Been waiting for it months.  No
pills and tonics for me.  Not ill,
but seized by the fragrance
of flowering earth.  Titillated by
the magic show onstage.  Forget
the one in the wings.   Stand up
and clap with me.  Today
she deserves an ovation.  Today!!

You sure know how to bring words to life. It is clear that you are a nature lover, dear Pea, by turning them into beautiful poems and your poetry obviously loves you back, as many of us do. You write on, dear lady!

Love,
Sheri

There is a specific energy in these lines where lots of different thoughts combine, like many facets of the writer's spirit. Sometimes your poem feels like an inner monologue, then it reaches out for the readers to wake them up!

Yes, you've got this totally right. Right now. The sun is shining. The birds are venturing back and a renewal is in the air. May the darkness remain remote for you, dear lady. Liz

Yes, Pea, yes!!! Give Mother Nature a standing ovation for all of her magical beauty she sheds on us each spring, that fully blossoms in the summer. By all means, everyone clap for the beauty we see and hear, and enjoy each and every day, even in the winter. Mother Nature's flora and fauna are captivating, and precious dears, that make the human experience enjoyable. Thank you for sharing, Pea.

May the Lord Jesus bless you, and those whom you love, and be with you always, and at your side constantly. With much love in my heart, joy to the world, peace on earth, & ((((((((((MANY WONDERFUL SISTERLY HUGGGGSSSS)))))))))), sister Barbie

Weather swings set my arthritis into a tizzy and I'm dealing with this, today. I wish the weather would decide if it wishes to be spring or winter, but I'll take today's bad with the hope for better times tomorrow.

Nice writing, Pea,

Wonderful write, Pea, but I'm with Karla: not crazy about the svr wx; here with no basements, when they call for tornado watches (or God forbid, W A R N I N G S!!) we freak!! This is not my cuppa tea! Very well penned; love the imagery in this!

(((Pea))),

The last gasps of winter - slowly dying under the renewal of l i f e - beautifully expressed. I've the fever, too, just not for the severe - which we had last night - 75 degrees yesterday - right now, at 12:37 p.m. (CST), it's 40 - they're calling for up to 2 inches of snow?!?? After tornado warnings??!??? NUTZ!!!! Beautifully imaged hope in verse, well done.

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.
