I feel
like the wild daisies
that sprang up out back
are for me.
I smile
at the thought of being
able to make a memorial
to the oaks and maples
and cedars that graced
so long.
Trip-encouraging burial
mounds I just know
contain spirits that try to help
blunt the teeth of roaring beasts
in coward yellow
when they come to destroy.
Farther back, white rock
rings trees like it is trying
to insure they survive.
I see
the rain has decided
to stick around.
Stay gentle.
Don't need to be a child
to need a rest
from glare,
I feel.

SO beautiful, (((Pea))) - Autumn bursts with vibrant colors and refreshment in these lines - GORGEOUS!! Looking forward to the end of the burning season, which this summer seemed to be - older I get, harder it is to take the heat - thank you for the celebration that is Fall. Well done.
