When you are watching your children playing and having fun, say a prayer of thanks and also say a prayer for the little ones who can't play, who miss out on so much...

Poem Artwork

The Youngest Hero's

A Mother sits with tears
Holding her sons hand
Trying to find a reason
Fighting to understand
Praying for a miracle
For her five year old
Leukemia hasn't won
Or the ending told

The Youngest Hero's

An eleven year old little girl
Looks around but cannot see
On a starched white pillow
She wonders what her life will be
She can hear her Mommy crying
As her Daddy holds her hand
He tells her to be a brave girl
But she just can't understand

The Youngest Hero's

A tiny newborn baby
He was born premature
Struggling for every breath
His future rocky,   so unsure
A little tiny, frail body
But a  brave spirit within
Keep fighting , little one
You will win

The Youngest Hero's

Little boy in a wheelchair
Watching other kids play
No one seems to understand
What he goes through every day
The passing of time will tell
If he'll ever walk again
His eyes mirror his soul
And the pain he hides within

The Youngest Hero's

They are in hospital and homes
Take a look around
There the sick and the helpless
Can be found
Their courage speaks loudly
Through hearts that shine
These little children
Could be yours are mine...

WHAT A TRULY UNIQUE POEM THAT FOCUSES ON THOSE, BECAUSE OF SIZE, ARE USUALLY NOT RECOGNIZED AS TRUE SOLDIERS...INNOCENT AND FIGHTING. IS IT ANY WONDER THAT JESUS SAID, ...UNLESS WE BECOME LIKE A CHILD, WE CANNOT ENTER THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN...? POWERFUL MESSAGE. THANKS FOR SHARING AND BLESSINGS. JOYCE * HIS INSPIRATIONS

You speak for those who badly need an advocate. This is sad, but so very real. Nicely done, Linda. Hugs,

Linda we are all God's children young and old. Pain is real to young and old people alike but what the question should be to each of us. Is can I help ease this pain somewhat because faith without works is dead! Thank you for a well writen poem of truth. It is easier to get money & grants for children than it is for adults. Peace!!!

Powerfully penned compassion, Linda - children shouldn't suffer. It's a mean, hard world out there ...

"Let the children come to me" sounds like a heartless thing to say to the parents. If He just could explain to them why...

Nicely written Linda. Children are our future and we should all be so compassionate to them. May God bless you every day of your life.

Great write, Linda, but I wish people'd care or help adults who are disabled. Everything is for the kids. That is all in good, but what about the adults? There are plenty of disabled adults who could use a lot of help or support instead of being shunned or forgotten! I know! TRUST me, I know!

(((HUGS))) and much love, your friend in Tx., Karen Lynn. :(

By keeping compassion in our heart, they save us from ourself. They are indeed real heroes. Splendid Linda!

These disabled heroes are cute and cuddly and make us wish we could help them. Unfortunately, except for family and a very few friends, most will grow into disabled adults with few prospects for work in a society that mostly ignores or shuns them.

Through our technologies, we have unleashed many causes for fetal disability. As goodhearted as most people are the best approach is good family planning. If young mothers and fathers could see the lifelong path of their baby in perspective, there is no need to use extreme measures to bring a child into the world to suffer. If there is sin, that is sin.

A severely disabled adult,

Ron
