Poems are fun to write
I write them all the time
Still I cannot figure out
How to make them sound alike at the end.
A friend came up to me one day
And said with eyes sublime
Your poems are not any good
They never, ever sound alike at the end.
And so I wrote another poem
Just to please my friend
But this one was as all the rest
It didn't even rhyme.
I think more poets write non-rhyming poems than rhyming. I am at home with rhyming. Take a little more time if you want to make it rhyme. You could have written: "Poems are fun to write I write them all the time Still I cannot figure out how to make them rhyme." You could have used the word rhyme at the end of the next 2 lines also. And for the last line, You could have written: "And so I wrote another poem Just to please my friend But this one was much better; it did rhyme at the end."
