The stage is set in the parlor
It is time for them to perform
They are so exited
Their audiences welcome is warm
~
The piano and bench await them
They are such a site to see
Her small shaggy sweet doggie
And her self; just barely three
~
In her Sunday dress of snowy white
Her doggie by her side
She smiles from ear to ear
Beaming with great pride
~
Little hands float above the ivories
As she prepares to play
Her special musical selection
She has practiced for this day
~
Odd notes here and there
With no melody or tune
But such beauty is the music
That floats throughout the room
~
Her doggie yaps along with her
As her hands land on whatever key
No grander concert has been presented
By any known symphony
~
The final yap and note concluded
She smiles as applause fills the room
Mommy and Daddy loved it
They must do this again soon
~

I loved the portrayal you wrote of a 3 year old playing Her music
My sister and I did the same thing and I was about 3 she was 2/1/2.

I loved it too… The picture is such a wonderful [sight] to see, I can see how you were inspired to write the poem. For some reason, when you hit the right note, dogs like to revert to their primitive instinct and howl.
The beauty of childhood experience lovingly rendered. Well done. There is nothing more beautiful than the sweet innocence of a child working hard and taking pride in what they attempt "for the first time". Very touching.
