Special Delivery
The sleigh’s tuned up, reindeer fed
Elves wrapping gifts, blue, white and red
Santa’s laid down for his nap
Rudolph has prepared the map
The list of names is long this year
And there’ll be a few more stops I fear
‘cause he’s got a list of soldiers where
He doesn’t usually leave the air
They top his list of those “been good”
Even though they live in the ”Iraqi hood”
And Santa won’t forget their plight
As he drops his gifts on the world tonight
They’ll spend their Christmas far away
From the homes where their children play
They work hard so all kids will be
Allowed to grow up strong and free
May Santa’s flight be blessed this year
As he stops to drop some Christmas cheer
And searches from the sky to see
Their little tumbleweed Christmas tree
So if by chance your house gets missed
It’ not because you’ve not made the list
It’s just that Santa has packed his sleigh
With gifts for soldiers this Christmas Day

When one focuses on the sacrifices they have made throughout time, being away at Christmas is actually a very small part of it. Yes I know it's sad they are not around the tree with their families, but their service goes so much further. We owe them more than we could ever repay. It's only by their hardships that we are able to walk about freely in this great Country of ours. Without them..well lets just say, we wouldn't have the right to say anything without them. We all know that's where the focus is and should always remain.
Sherry, Any and all that read this, will be enlightened by not only your talent and abilities with words, but your large and amazing heart.
