Another year has passed, and another trip to the West has been accomplished. What follows is a brief itinerary.
On September 7, my wife and I, along with another couple, flew to Las Vegas, rented a car, and took a 4,060-mile road trip. I did all the driving, so I'm still suffering from a severe case of jet lag and driver's fatigue.
We spent the night of September 7, at the MGM Grand Hotel in Vegas and took in the David Copperfield show. The next morning we were on the road. Our travels took us through part of Southern Utah, up the Western side of Colorado and through Rocky Mountain National Park, across Western Nebraska, up to Mount Rushmore and Crazy Horse Monument in South Dakota, down the Eastern side of Wyoming and the Eastern portion of Colorado, across New Mexico and Arizona, over to Joshua Tree National Park in Californa, back to Vegas and home. On our last night, we had the opportunity to see Le Reve at the Wynn Hotel. What a treat! I highly recommend the show, and the Wynn Hotel's beauty cannot be surpassed. If, for no other reason, Vegas is a city all should visit just to see the splendor of the hotels. I have yet to drop my first quarter into a slot machine, but I can enjoy the city nonetheless, for it is a melting pot of diverse cultures to be enjoyed by all.
