I'm reading over my grandfather's poetry.
Thought I'd share this. Judgment
Yea, wrong is wrong, and right is right,
As day is day, and night is night,
But dawn and twilight have their place,
So, all unfine need not be base –
There is a measure undefined
That neither is, yet both combined.
The earth is blue beneath the moon,
And pink at dawn, and white at noon;
Thus, all revealed to mortal sight
Appears to us in borrowed light –
Oft-times the things we seem to see
Are seen but as they seem to be.
No code unyielding can avail,
No page of statutes but will fail;
Man can but do his best each day,
And by example point the way;
Whom some would hate, yet others love –
Let judgment wait the courts above.
