When I joined AD, the only thing I hoped to accomplish, was to gain a little PR, which I hoped would translate into book sales. I gained some PR, but my book sales remain quite dormant. I know poetry books don't sell as well as novels, non-fiction, and all the types of non-fiction. But "Damaged Merchandise" is more then poetry. Everyone who has read it, has enjoyed it. I've received some great comments on it. But, this too, leads to a little depression. No one will post a review on it - anywhere. So am I being lied to, or are people that -----, (I don't know what word I'm looking for, so I'll leave it up to the reader. Heck, even a person from AD, asked for an autographed copy of it. So I sent it, got my money, then was promised a review. Again, nothing. So, I sit here and look at reviews people have posted on my poems, short stories, and articles. They're good? So what am I doing wrong?
Anyway, enough about that. What I wasn't expecting was the friendships I have found at AD. I wish I had more time, to talk to these people on a one-to-one basis. I won't give away many details, because I haven't asked for permission to talk about anyone in this blog or any of my writings. But, I do hope, these "friends" know who they are, because they always bring a smile to my face, when they leave me a review or send me a message. And one of these writers, I will ask, if he (or she) would mind if I linked them to my personal web site, because their work is something special...
