After months of trying to get the local and national news to interview me about Child Abduction I had almost given up. I don't want it for attention, heavens no. I can't imagine anyone having their dirty laundry aired and enjoying it. This recent case in Missouri had really hit home. I started again to make my calls and send my emails out.
After spending much of last night up writing and reading other authors stories i finally feel asleep. Wrapped in a electric blanket camouflaged as in Celtic plaid and three miniature schnauzers to boot. I woke up to the sound of my cell ringing. It was a reporter with the Dallas Morning News. I rubbed my eyes and pinched my dog, nope I must be sleeping, didn't feel a thing. Wait, hmm where am I? The reporter paused, "I am with the DMN". Holy Chit! This is real. After a long conversation we made an appointment to talk in person.
As any man can agree, when your wife is gone the house just... well you know. I called my Brother n Law. Can I borrow your vacuum cleaner, the dog at ours. No really, he did. I explained everything as fast as a 6 year old on Santa's lap. Okay, stop, take a deep breath,"I need to borrow the vacuum cleaner, P L E A S E.
Rush rush, hmmm, didn't plan to get hair cut till Thursday. Better shave too. Do I still have that nice tie? Is my best jacket clean? What would my wife have me wear. Yes I can admit women dress us better than we want to admit. Everything in order, my board members know what I am doing tomorrow.
Dan comes over with the vacuum and like two guys we kick back watch a couple of movies and it will be another long night of cleaning, prepping and writing till they get here.
