My recent interviews as a former Abducted Child and Activist. 1/19/2007 12:18:10 AM
As many of you know I am a former Abducted Child. I was kidnapped for over three years resulting in a felony conviction of Child Steeling. Over the past year I have started to speak and educate people on the effects of Child Abduction. It is a horrible issue but if someone does not stand up and speak about their story; then nothing gets changed.
I spent the first thirty two years of my life hiding my 'Dark Secret" from everyone including my wife. Finally realizing I could make a difference. I joined heart first and have never been more passionate in my life over an issue. Every since this case in Missouri opened the media have been spinning their views on what these boys went through.
Sadly, some feel that Shawn wanted to be kidnapped or enjoyed it. I have taken it upon myself to educate others on what goes through the mind of a child abducted.
This past week a series of media and news groups have started calling and emailing me to get either my view on the Missouri case or my own story. I have been more than happy to speak on the topic.
Speaking on what we go through when as a child we are ripped from our home is not fun or enjoyable. As I said above and in my coming book, 'I tried to bury my past'. However, if my story can shed light on what many of us victims go through; I am more than willing.
I hope that society stops and reevaluates the sickness of our times. In Vermont pedophiles are getting off with the . equivalent of a kiss on the cheek. You can get more time in jail for writing hot checks I’m sure? Vermont is a beautiful state.
We should not look at the citizens but the idiots who let these injustices happen. It is my hope that with my interviews this week Ican gives my part to effect change.
