Syntax and the over zealous crtiquing authors 3/20/2007 9:04:30 PM
Read below Pissed! That is what I am. I hate to use such words but I am very upset.
I had gone to another authors site and listed my work there. You know, try something different. Sorry AD. I will never stray again. lol Anyways I had this author contact me and wnat to help me with getting my work noticed. I agreed like all new "green" authors do.
I recievied this email later this past week telling me that my writing stunk (in so many words) and that he/she wanted to rewrite my book in his/her words keeping my dates and places the same.
I was beside myself. I realize that my syntax and grammer need work but I can tell a story.
I think at a certain point writers need to learn a little tact. I am sure I could use some too. Still, it is one thing to offer help, and another to take over one's project. I guess we all learn our lessons now and again.
If you have any thoughts on this please send me a note. I would like to know I am not alone.
