The Age of Big Brother Has Arrived 4/27/2008 1:06:00 AM
In the UK everyone is tracked as a suspected criminal... We often hear how every day, the American people, under the Bush regime, have traded a little freedom for a little security. And so they have. And for this, their children and their children's children will judge them - if they are free to do so.
But there is hope for America, which has a far stronger tradition of freedom than the United Kingdom, where almost every human being is now monitored in her/his daily life.
In the UK, almost FOUR MILLION cameras track and record the movement of sheep-citizens. Much of the motivation for the deployment of this Orwellian system is based on the need for effective counter-terrorism measures. But as any paranoid practitioner of old-think could have told you, the practical upshot is the creation of an Orwellian police state.
Already, cameras are being fitted with audio equipment so that people can be intimidated over loudspeakers:
"Warning - you have been fined ten pounds for littering..."
"Warning - you are not permitted to loiter..."
"Warning - that is an illegal political poster..."
"Warning - you are not permitted to send your children to schools in this area...
How long before debilitating gases can be released remotely, or subsonic sound blasts that induce nausea and severe headaches can be triggered?
You think I'm kidding? For years I've put up with the utterances of idiots - "If you stay within the law there's nothing to fear..." Such people lack not only intelligence but self respect.
Already, councils in the UK admit to using these facilities to track people who may be attempting to send their children to better schools than those available locally, and much more.
Harsh penalties will soon be implemented against those who refuse to carry personal ID in the UK. Soon, all minor offenders will be compelled to contribute to DNA banks.
How long will it be before every child has a microchip implant? How long before underground organizations come into being to fight the tyranny?
This is not the blathering of a paranoid conspiracy theorist - this is a picture of the western world - today. Already, it doesn't matter which party you elect to government - none of them will give up this new-found and absolute power over the behaviour and compliance of every citizen.
So much more can and will be said on this subject - until such speech is classified as illegal, as undermining public security, as acting in the interests of the enemies of society - ask the Americans - they know already.
