In the mid 1970's,  a God given vision was birthed by the love, obedience and tenacity of the late Marjorie Catherine Taylor.  The manifestation proved to be ordained as the ministry known as the Celestial Ensemble of St. Luke A. M. E. Zion Curch of Gary, Indiana.

Taylor, as she was affectionately known, answered her call to found a music ministry to not only sing but to evangelize and disciple.

By the Holy Spirit, the study of the Word and the mandate of discipline; the ministry of believers grew to be both hearers and doers of the Word.

In memory of my own transformation and in honor of these yet steadfast laborers in now varied harvest fields i take this walk down memories corridor.

It was on Mothers Day 1977 that i sat in the sanctuary of St. Luke with my mother, the late Sara Ann Powell.

My mood was rather somber and contemplative as i was seeking God for direction in my lfe. I had not been a part of this fellowship for many years yet i was warmly embrached. Many thoghts came to mind but were suddenly silenced by the anointed collective voice of the Celestial Ensemble.  I remember the beautiful and powerful voice of little Sherry Sumbry(Cole)Isinging

He's Waiting to Hear you Pray"  and pray I did!  After service,having repented and rejoined the churh,

 I asked Sharon Drain how i could become a member of the Celestials.  Sharon directed me to Taylor and thus began a wonderful life and ministry in God ordered steps.

As goes life a change was on the horizon and the ministry became The Tsylor-Evans Celestial EnfsembleWayne Evans musical genius known as the Maestro was the directotor/ musician extraordinaire as well as now pastors Graylan Blakely Sr, Robert Nichols and musians Anthony Cherry and On guitar Jeffrey Hurt.
