LORD YOU are my Portion 7/11/2017 3:12:18 AM
Focusing on an eternal inheritance The reading is found in Psalm 119:57-64. Verse 57 records"You are my portion LORD. I have promised to obey your words."
Now in scripture Jesus is described as many things... Savior. Lord. Redeemer. Rock and so much more!
Yet somehow the word portion for me made it so up close and personal.
If we think about portion some type of distribution comes to mind.
Earlier the psalmist expressed anquish and concern of the distribution, if you will, to the wicked in the abundance of wealth and uunseemingly checked evil.
Oh but Hallelujah! I came to the cconclusion of Asaph that Jesus is my portion and as the song proclaims a constant friend is He...
I came to realize that in all the trials and tribulations to always pray and not faint.
I came to realize ultimately this earth is not my home but according to Matthew 6:33 Seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things will be added.
I came to know to set my affecction on things above and not things on the earth.
In so doing I can see beyond the temporary pleasures and treasures esteemed in time.
I can hold fast my profession of faith and know that the LORD IS THE GREATEST gift we can receive.
portion anyone can have. He is the abundant and immutable everlasting porttion that reconciled us to inherit our true citizenship in the eternal kingdom of God.
Seek. Find. Know Obey Love
Ive come to know that with the LORD JESUS CHRIST ON THIS SIDE OF ETERNITY, HE IS OUR JOY,PEACE,PROVIDER,STRENGTH,AND GUIDE
