Last night at the show.
MORECAMBE.
A one man show with non stop dialogue, set around the beinings of Eric Morecambe's entertainment life. From desperate beinings to half of the country watching him, as part of a double act, on television in the 1980's.
Bob Golding is a very talented actor who takes off Eric Morecambe with the mannerisims and delivery of gags as the master did. But he also carries off the three heart attacjs with the style that affords them, as Eric did, yet another reason for humor. it was at those times that Bob Golding was able to switch the audience into the cold reality of Eric's heart attack, how the man met a challenge because he could not stop laughing.
A brilliant epitaph to a great family comediene, and double act Morcambe and Wise. They did appear on the Ed Sullivan Show in the USA, but there very British humor was panned by the US press as too fast and too English, we dont need them.
There television shows had a eaiting list of stars who wanted to appear on their shows, only to be made to join in comical sketches.
A really enjoyable peoduction, not an empty seat and five curtain calls.
