Just arrived in Warwick (LwtLoLA). Up at 5am to catch the 6.17 train to Carlisle and thence to Warwick. Catherine met me and brought me to the apartment. Here is where I do my own thing for a few days every month and enjoy time with her and Morgan (and their two boxer pups who are in lieu of grandchildren.) I will see them later when I go over to their house for supper. The two pups are Max and Molly and are eight months old now and very naughty but very loveable too. I wish I could put photos on here to show you just how cute they are. We can't have dogs at the farm as the Ladies don't take kindly to them, so its nice to have them here.
C thinks the Botox IS working. She hasn't seen me since I had the injection and she can see a difference in my eye so that's good, although I'm still not too sure about it. I will have it done again though if the doctor agrees. Next appointment on May 26th. But I can't have Botox again for three months. I am still waiting for an appoinment with the contact lens man who will make me a lens to match my good eye. My blind eye has developed a cataract and now looks all white.
When I am here in Warwick, I am spending my spare time having a go at writing a novel. I have done about three chapters so far and have given them to the man who lives downstairs to look at. He is a published author who has made a good living from his books, so I value his opinion. He is called David and he lives with his wife, Ina. They are both 87 years old now but very good fun and most of his books are in the 'ADULT' genre. He wrote them after he and Ina were thrown out of Uganda by Idi Amin in the 70s with just the clothes they were wearing and they needed money quick. He won't even let me hold them, let alone look at them, but checking him out on Amazon leads me to think that they are VERY HOT stuff. If you dare check him out, look under the name of Lesley Asquith! But be prepared for a shock! However they served the purpose and made him a fortune! so good for him, I say! I shall go and see them in the morning and will let you know the verdict on my story so far! One of David's other books (that he did let me see) was about his wartime experiences in the British navy and the film rights were bought by a Hollywood director.
Back on the farm, yesterday was quite a good day as we found Lady Gina, who didn't get pregnant by Klondyke Powerhouse last autumn, was on heat and so we rang for the AI man and he inseminated her with semen from a bull called Globex Xplosive, so here's hoping she's pregnant now! Xplosive is a coffee coloured Galloway bull from Australia, so the calf might be coffee coloured too. Lady Olga was also inseminated with his semen and is pregnant so we might get two coffee coloured calves next spring. Keep your fingers crossed!
