May day weekend

Its the Saturday of the May day weekend and warm and Sunny
with it. The garden which you are by now very familiar with
shines with the yellow and red wallflowers that line the
borders and the white blossom on other assorted trees and
bushes. I had not been feeling too good so did not make
any arrangements to meet up or go anywhere, and now I am
regretting it. A whole sunny day with nothing to do !!.I
went to a cafe near me for a tea and cake .Its not my
favourite place but its nearby and relativly cheap,having
said that I dont think I will rush back in a hurry.I AM
FUSSY ABOUT CAFES , I mean I never feel totally comfortable
drinking coffee in some of them ,unpleasant ,surly
customers or staff , pleasant on the presentation but
plenty of mumbling under breaths or dirty looks behind the
smiles ,often glad of someone eating alone and feeling
uncomfortable to pick on. All that puts me off. Perhaps
drinking tea etc in cafes should be reserved only when you
are with friends.Cafeneions in Greece act as second homes
to their regular clients .The customers often close friends
of the owners giving them an almost club ambience.

Further still
Today for the first time I noticed green leaves sway on the
trees in the grounds of the neighbouring Ukranian
club.THEIR BARE EMpTY BRANCHES IN WINTER ARE ONLY TOO
VISIBLE FROM MY WINDOW BUT FOR SOME REASON I had failed to
notice their coming to bud and then maturity.
The week in education reached an all time low ,when a sixty
one year old teacher was stabbed to death by a fifteen
year old student in her class in Leeds.It was followed by
the arrest of two pupils the same age in Wales who were
planning to murder another teacher.Security searches at
shools will most likely follow but this is a paracetamol
for a much worse illness.These actions are a result of
something far deeper in our western society.A malady which
will only ever be cured when its roots are properly
tackled.
An affluent society ,a superficial consumerist society, one
in which youth culture has gone perhaps into a maize of
wrong???????Where do we go from here.Is the problem never
really tackled because in rooting it out it will damage
consumerism and economy? A lot of money some where may be
lost.
The Eurovision Song Contest fast approaches. I listened to
the controversial Austrian song on BBC today. It is a
deeply good song with interesting lyrics. A bondesque big
ballad that would not be out of place in the company of Dr
NO. Pussy galore,goldfinger and Sean Connery.
If tomorrow is as nice as today I do not intend to waiste it.
