Queens birthday and monarchy

I awoke today,Saturday ,and immedietly tuned into my
favourite radio music show,Sounds Of The Sixties, after an
hour a news bulletin announced that it was the queens
official birthday and God Save The Queen was played.
Monarchy has worked well in countries often where a monarchy
has deep roots and is part of a long tradition.Other
countries, often where monarchy has been imposed on the people
in many cases by a foreign power,it has not been a success.
In the recent months the referendum on Scotlands position
in the union has gathered momentum with statements
on what will happen if Scotland leaves or
stays in the union being delivered from both camps.Very
little however has been said about the monarchy other than
the SNPs statement that a future independant state would
retain the monarchy. Many will see this as a normal
state of affairs within the Commonwealth, which is reflected
in various states where the Queen is head of state. There
seems to be very little understanding to the fact that
Scotland is different .It is there that the monarchy came
from ,when, on the death of Elizabeth Tudor,James VI
became King of both England and Scotland.There are those
who are quick to cry that the Royal family are of German
extraction, yes, but they are on the British throne,because
a Scottish Princess,Elizabeth of Bohemia married into
German royalty and that the Queen is a descendant of the
house of Stuart in the female line.She herself ,through her
mother, with much more recent Scottish blood. Scotland has
a rich and
ancient tradition of heraldry and its ancient royal roots
go back to the mists of time and did not end in 1603,as is
often presumed .An independant Scotland should not abandon
its rich historic culture of pageantry and monarchy. In
doing so it pulls the plug on a great part of its story.
Proposals on how the monarchy will be in an
independant Scotland ,should be made clearer.Should not the
royal family be seen to spend more of their time in the
kingdom,should a seperate coronation for future monarchs
take place at Scone ? Should not the title Queen or King
of Scots come into wider general use? and should not in a
future generation the monarch be seperate from that of
England, based in Scotland and representing Scotland at
events.
