Our Lives Are All But A Film of Neo- Realism

I awoke around 7.30 am and felt particularly rested and
awake for that time of day.Not feeling drousy or sleepy
headed I switched on the radio and tuned into Sounds Of The
Sixties which today played a few of the more obscure and
forgotten of 1960s hits.I made coffee and sat up in bed to
listen to the music ,only rising at 9 am.
With a move on the horizon I decided to spend an hour or so
throwing out papers , cuttings ,lesson plans ,old letters
which have more than cluttered my house for the last ten to
fifteen years.I have noticed an empty house in the next
street that I think might be a pleasant place to
live,cloistered behind bushy hedges at the corner of a dead
end street.All I need to do is motivate myself into
applying.
I thought today about my last blog post and realised that
my actions today were realism - as it would be if it was
ever translated into celluloid.It reminded me that peoples
often mundane lives can be interesting to other people even
if they lack drama on an epic scale.
Due to all available leave having been booked through to
Novenber ;it looks like I will have no Summer holiday this
year.
It is curious to me how foreign destinations are considered
a natural asset to being content and happy.There is often
the notion among western democracies that places are there
to be visited no matter how awful or war -torn they are in
reality.There exists surely in this a still desire for a
Utopia a California from our culture of myths.WE are
taught to believe that life should parallel the folk tales
of old in that the good shall triumph and the bad be
trodden under;that situations will just naturally get
better .We are often met with disapointment as realism
conflicts and challenges it all.
It is an Autumnal -like day in the garden an a cool breeze
and dull sky greet me as I walk down my steps .
