March, Women's History Month, Are You In?

Women are gaining momentum around the globe;are you in?

March is Women's History Month, the time when special attention is given to the many varied and important contributions we as women have made and are making in the world. It is a time to stop, literally stop, and focus on the progress and sacrifices women have made to make this world a better place for women, girls, men and boys.

It is true:Women are uniting around the globe to show their support for women's causes. Are you in?Are you doing what you can to help advance the causes, the great concerns facing women? Concerns such as the inequality that still exists in the amount of money women are paid compared to the money men receive for doing the same jobs? Did you know that millions of girls around the world are denied an education to improve their lives, and are forced into marriages before reaching puberty?

A Chinese proverb says: "Women hold up half the sky!" This is true on many levels.Of course the other half is held up by men which shows the equality of both sexes.
Let us as women(and men too who want the best for the women in their lives) do our part to make this world a better place for all women, girls, boys and men.But during the month of March, let's put the focus on acknowledging the many great women in our lives.

What To Do Next?

*Get involved in an organization that advances the causes of
women and young girls;

*Go to www.globalgiving.org and make a contribution to a
needy child(girl) in an underdeveloped country;

*Let the women in your life know how much you appreciate
them;

*Give kudos to the many men who support women's causes and
are doing what they can to change things;

*Don't see anything that strikes your interest? Then think
of another way you can get involved,and go for it!
