There is a place inside my mind that I have set aside,
A place put back for my most precious memories to reside.
These are special memories, ones that mean so much to me,
That I keep them in my secret place under lock and key.

I keep it in a corner, in the back out of the way,
And I go there to visit almost each and every day.
And from there a memory I’ll take out to view from time to time,
And it will take me to that place if only in my mind.

Memories of loved ones that were lost so long ago.
Special things I may have done that only I would know.
Sounds I may have heard, or special things that I have seen,
Or just a secret memory that I keep there just for me.

“That Special Place” is what I call this room that’s in my mind,
And every time I go there I know peace is what I’ll find.
A treasure chest of memories of which gold cannot compare,
There are no words to describe the joy I find in there.
