I’ve always been a simple man, so it seemed to me,
So I was shocked when I was told I should try poetry.
I never saw my self as being very good with words,
So being called a poet, to me seemed so absurd.
But I took a piece of paper, and then I took a pen,
And I really wrote a poem that rhymed from front to end.
I wrote things from the heart and from the feelings of this man,
And from that piece of paper, my poetry began.
I’ve always been a craftsman, I like to work with wood,
I like making things from scratch and hope they turn out good.
But now that I have written, and my feelings have been read,
If I can’t work with wood, I’ll make things out of words instead.

I have believed that a good poem is a true work of art. I believe a good poet is always willing to put a lot of work into his writing but you already seem to know all that. - Vic

Terrific read! Sometimes God uses our children to bring out the best in us. In this case, you were sitting on a goldmine and didn't even know it. Fantastic and entertaining!
Yes. This is how I felt. Though I've always crafted with words. I would love for you to read my piece, "Firtst Breath". It is my "poetry awareness" piece, my song of joy...
I can feel how sensitive your senses are, to wood, poetry, and people, Jack.
