As she walks barefoot in the sand,
Her mind’s on him, so far at sea.
Thinking of their times together.
With him she longs to be.

Of their happy times together,
These lonely waters do remind.
Then he was called to do his duty,
And had to leave her there behind.

Each night she takes this lonely walk,
There in the lonesome tide.
Her teardrops fall into the sea,
Her feelings she can’t hide.

A ship out on the ocean,
A lonely sailor at the rail.
Thinking of the girl he left behind,
The day his ship set sail.

He longs to hold her tightly,
It is with her he wants to be.
His teardrops fall into the ocean,
Now lost forever in the sea.

One day again they’ll be together,
And then together always be.
But for now the tie that binds them,
Lonely teardrops in the sea.
