This poem was written to go in a shadowbox for a very special little friend of mine, Emma. To most people I am known as "Papa", she kind of adopted me as "her" Papa.
For you Emma
Emma
Upon my wall there is an angel
With a smile on her face
She is always looking down at me
From her special place
This angel’s name is Emma
And she is my special friend
She always makes me happy
With the letters that she sends
She’s as pretty as a picture
Just as cute as she can be
She seems more like a granddaughter
Than just a friend to me
I will make to you a promise
And I will put it in this rhyme
No matter where your life may take you
I’ll be your “Papa” for all time.
Love, Papa
