This poem was written for me by my daughter Jessica. By coincidence she entitled it the same as the one I wrote for her. Neither of us knew the other was writing these. I wanted to share it with you.
Jack
Daddy’s Little Girl
She stands before the mirror
Made up in her dress and pearls
Realizing this is her day
As she grows to woman from girl
He stands across the room
Watching her smile and beam
Her happiness so contagious
Ready to bust at the seam
She stands before the aisle
A man at the other end awaits
For their lives to join and be one
She thinks this must be fate
He’s not sure he’s ready
But he knows now he must go
Because his baby is counting on him
They start off nice and slow
She finally reaches the end
She turns and gives him a kiss
She hands him a piece of paper
Then turns again and faces bliss
He sits in the pew and opens the note
Then looks at the woman in pearls
He smiles as tears well up in his eyes
It read “I love you from Daddy’s Little Girl”

Geez, Jack. You are ONE lucky Daddy to have a little girl like that. My oldest daughter got married May 24 of this year and she is ABSOLUTELY beautiful, both on the inside and out. Her husband is extremely handsome also. They would make beautiful children together, but at this point have decided not to have children.
This almost made me cry... but since I don't ever cry we will call it a mist.. You are lucky.. Your daughter is lucky.. Even when your life is over she will always know your love is for eternity.
