Epiphany of existential emptiness, descent into the darkness of despair
Transcendental Sonnet #1161:
Good Night
Alone in the night
With empty eyes
I look for my light
Searching dark skies
But it is gone
My star has gone out
I am alone
With no voice to shout
And none to hear
Alone with my doubt
Alone with fear
Gnawing hungrily
On what is left of me
Star light star bright good night

Poet, an extremely heartfelt timeless composition for your beloved wife. One must be able to release the inner pain in order to see the brilliant sky, for if not, far too often, all too many fall into the abyss of despair and some never return. I read your wife’s wonderful composition, and I wish both of you much happiness and good luck in her upcoming surgery. May she have a speedy recovery, and you two remain an inspiration to all. Take good care and be well.
Histories of the world are generally written to either celebrate technology and science, or to herald doom. My book examines the path of the spirit in the onward rush.
