A Blue Whale A gentle giant
Lived its expectant life span
And turned 80 today
Unbelievable as it may seem
This giant has beat man needless to say
All its life it's had to travel upstream
Just to live out the life God intended it to, free
It traveled alone or sometimes with a few
As a female, living out her years
birthed a claf every two or three
Misty mornings on the ocean
As we wait for the sun to shine
Watching for a big head
to pop up threw the dew
She's below eating krill
for at least twenty minutes at a time
Intelligent creature it is
Something when gone we would surely miss
Humans are annialating them
as fast as can be
Less than two thousand are left
in the ocean to see
This Blue Whale
A big gentle giant
Causes no harm
But it will be gone forever
Just the same
What a shame
