The poet, the artist and the layman
Lucky is the poet,
Who wields his pen
To write about
The restlessness of the breeze;
Luckier is the artist,
Who wields his brush
To portray
The shimmering of the lake;
Luckiest is the layman,
Who knows not how to write
Lacking the words,
And knows not how to paint
Lacking the skill,
But describes the sight to his mind,
And retains the scene in his heart;
And thus enjoys Nature the fullest.
