There are those that are regular writers to newspaper readers questions and talk radio.

He called himself

Luke Moran

but his voice I had heard in town.

I was sure he was the fella at the till

in the supermarket

sounded like him

very much like it.

Then I read a letter in the press

it was signed Luke Moran.

he said he lived on the east side of town

where the traffic was bad

was saying it was a mess.

Well my detective brain

could not refrain

the supermarket was on the east side.

Then when I read

that he hated his job

was fed up with barcodes galore

I knew who

was Luke Moran.

Well on my next trip

as he scanned every bit

I said 'Hello Luke Moran.'

He looked at me with two cross eyes

I suppose he must have been

very surprised,

I asked for his autograph

which cheered him no end

now me and Luke

are very good friends
