Many people have thought

how nice it would be

if we with creatures

could converse in speach,

yet I offer a thought

that you may

apprieciate

before such a thing we do reach.

Imagine there you are

sitting out admiring the dawn

when all of a sudden

you hear this speach,

'Good morning George'

'Hello Mable

nice day today

what do you think'

From every branch

on every tree

such voices fill the air

in abundance

as every bird

we understand

at the dawn chorus

opens its mouth.

So there from the beak

you understand their speach

and all that also

do so entreat.

So it is from every nook

and every cranny

you hear birds talking

incessently

about their day

the state of worms

the soaring prices

of nests in barns,

are you so keen

to hear them speak

understand every bird

in every street,

are so sure

that it is alright

with the warble and twitter

and not all the detail

that would change

the joy

of birdsong

into all hell let loose

all day long.
