Ever listened to a noisy clock, listened to its tick tock?

Poem Artwork

It sits in the passage

but sounds in my head

relentlessly ticking

so loud it might wake the dead.

I hear it at night

tick tock tick tock

this over enthusiastic

Grandfather Clock.

Older than Grandfather

taller as well

well polished and gleaming

dark Oak I feel,

tick tock it mumbles

all the time

so very annoying

never misses a line.

Even find

I walk with its beat

punctuate my words

in time wit it,

absurd how it dominates all

appears to be the master

of our lives

left right left right

tick tock tick tock

all the while.

With milatary precision

the pendulem swings

and there I go

walking with strides

that are well timed

tick flipping tock

all the time.

Then at night

when all is still

when you should hear a pin drop

you hear this

tick tocking hell

tick tock tick tock

running through my head

tick tock tick tock

as I try to sleep.

That's why I have an electric clock. And I turn out all the lights and all the sounds before I go to sleep because it makes it a whole lot easier. Your poem beautifully expresses the situation so many find themselves in with distraction keeping them awake.

A Quizard is born ONLY to a real Queen and a true Wizard. A Quizard is always blue. That's the sign of a real Quizard. Very rare.
