Savheen, Known today as Halloween, pre-dates Christianity by 2000 years. The Roman Festival of "All Hallows" was superimposed over the Ancient beliefs.
The idea of "Trick or Treat", originates from the practice of leaving Bread and mead on the Hearth to apease the angry Spirits that roamed the night. This practice has also been adopted into the "Santa Klaus" rites of leaving a gift of food for the jolly red giver of gifts.

Soon it comes, the night of the moon,
When Sahman will open the gates of Hel,
Of our Ancestors ask a boon
Leave them gifts and wish them well.
They’ll wander ‘cross the earth again,
Spirit wraith will call on you.
Some will laugh, some moan with pain.
Some with reward, others, collecting debts that are due.
Upon your Hearth leave bread and Mead,
Sprinkle salt around your door.
Feeding them that are most in need.
Repel the Dark and their evil spoor.
Light your candles in portals clear.
Draw the star upon the floor.
Draw the Keepers, from points far and near.
Undine, Sylph, Salamander, Dwarf.
Sahman rules upon this night,
He rules with love and rules with fear
Warrior Wraiths, revealed to sight,
He wipes away the Widow’s tear.
Follow all the ancient rules.
And you will wash away your pain.
For those who, would be as fools.
Death will come this Sahmen night.
