Life becomes a constant struggle burdened
with it's cachés of so called, " dreamers."
Those who have no better agenda
than to let their imaginations
guide them into a world of fantasy...

Those absurd, want-to-be, animated characters
who spend hours donning their disguises,
searching for secret identities
to help them escape booths of reality
and yet challenging each others vulnerabities...

Superhuman, power hungry, vagrants of
charm and grace who silently
glide from life to life on
thin threads of despair stealing truth
from the hearts of those who dare exist...

They leap buildings and dodge
bullets, resting easy in
luxuries lap, satisfied that
lead shields one's x-ray vision
from a field of perception.

These marvels of society, our
caped wonders, dwell on fear.
Insecure in a garden of roses
but always mindful, a thick
skin protects from piercing thorns...

This is a fantastic capture of the reality of the dreamer Paul!Bravo!
Dreams are wonderful we need them to inspire us, far different
than the dreamer who lives a fantasy to escape reality.

Hum...jeez, Paul, lots of this sounds like me... Are dreamers worthless? Wonderful tone to these verses, a soft damnation rising in words and images that unsettled me. :)

"To Dream The Impossible Dream," was penned by someone who still has
faith in the power of them.
Some of us would not be able to tolerate life, were it not for dreams.
I agree with Kate Burnside...this is definitely a topic for debate...and you will no doubt get some from poet peers.
Excellent writing, here!

DREAMERS OF THE WORLD UNITE TO GIVE US HOPE IN A HOPELESS WORLD! Otherwise what a forlorn and mindless society we have created for ourselves and what petty, material goals we have set ourselves as the be all and end all of life. thank you, Paul - an inspiring topic and fuel for debate! KB

You've captured some of the internet mistique some cloak themselves into rather than give the truth. I've come to regard those hiding as wolves in sheeps clothing and, believe me, I've encountered a few. I was told I am too gullible for the net but NO! Quite the contrary. It's been a superb learning lesson and I awaken the wiser always.
Thank you for your poem here. It relates much more than my words would ever convey and you placed these words very well.
Love,
Susan

Hero's. Ah, to again be transpotted back to the days when Batman and Sumpeman and Spiderman took care of all our troubles. Once we began pulling the masks off and revealing our hero's vulnerabilities is the day that our enemies began to believe America could be defeated. Now we have what we have. Bring back Batman. We have enough Jokers.

Paul, our caped heros may only be imaginery,,but they are a very real part of who we have become. I will admit stroking my hero's ego more often than I probably should! But since I happen to believe that he enjoys it..I'll continue!
Very enjoyable read from you this morning Paul! Lisa

The riches man in the world is one who has a dream. ~ I don't know who said this, but I believe it.

A man without dreams is a man who has no life.
