Borrowed Time

Sunlight shines through filtered groves Revealing boughs of fallen trees Scents of pine and oaken sap Linger deep in memories Moss exposes north from south And ferns adorn the outer wreath Creatures scamper all about And critters scurry underneath Mist of early morning dew Gentle sounds of waters flow Gifts of nature all around Droplets formed on flowers glow Weight of life to moments ease Burdens lost no pain in thought Borrowed time is seldom found Among the peace from which it's sought.
