For Rainy Days
Start with a seed you almost forgot,
The kind that survives where others do not,
Water with mornings that taste like repair,
And stir in the hope that was hiding there.
Add a pinch of laughter, warm and untamed,
Fold in the places you once felt ashamed,
Grate down the “never” to dust on the floor,
Then mix it with dreams you hid in the drawer.
Whisk in the moments you learned how to stay,
Even when shadows demanded their say,
Season with courage, and just enough spice,
Burn through the doubts that whisper like ice.
Drop in the steps that dissolved in the mist,
The ones that existed before you were kissed,
Fold in the space where the false couldn’t stay,
And zest it with choices that carved out your way.
Rise up with the pieces, slow and true ,
And build from the wreckage that carried you through,
Bake in the fire you once tried to flee,
Then serve it with hands that are finally free.
Let it rise in the dark, unshaken, unseen,
Birthed from the marrow of might in between,
Bake it in truth, no polish, no spin,
And taste what it means to let joy live within.
