Heart Pain

Florence Nightingale I am NOT
But I know what to do if I touch something hot…
And I know what to do if I bang my big toe…
Or smash into my foot with my old garden hoe…
And I know where the Band-Aids are when I’m cut…
Or where the ice pack is if I land on my butt…
And I know how to splint if I break a bone…
Or how to call the emergency room via my phone…

But there’s one injury with which I simply can’t deal
It’s the broken-heart syndrome - it takes time to heal.

Ah so true, and so painfully written, beautiful and so sad,

You can put your broken-heart syndrome right here beside mine and all my friends here in this room of shattered dreams.
