That orange orb up in the sky
Has captured everybody’s eye
‘Tis closer now than been before,
Can almost see the Martian shore!
Does life exist somewhere up there?
Do they have orange skin and bright green hair?
Do they peer through scopes back at our planet?
And wonder “does life live there I wonder - now can it?”
But maybe they’ve visited us on other occasions
Invisibly attended our earthly celebrations
Perhaps they landed in your back yard?
Sent you that mysterious birthday card?
Some say they’ve visited us for years!
To spy and mate and fuel our fears!
That would explain a lot, I say….
NOW COME TAKE MY MARTIAN HUSBAND AWAY!
this is a ::scream:: sorry 'bout that, felt a cold hand on my back *dang my twink*
this is a hysterical write! thanks for sharing!

Scientifically, your poem is so thought-provoking. (This is because I had written a short-story "Moon Walker" about Martians. Yes, I also think that there are martians. One cannot think that just because we, the earth people, need air to survive, then others do too. The martians might not need air to survive, they might need something else.
The "Mars Pathfinder" that we sent to Mars in 1997 could just be well landed on a desert in Mars. Who knows?!
Your write is very funny and thought-provoking. Enjoyed this!
May Lu a.k.a. Sandie Angel :o)

You're a hoot AND a hollar, Pam.
