"Ritual By Night"

With stygian voice so malevolent and dark

As a sacrifice to the Tempest

Lightning strikes in darkness

Deep within motion of the night

A sickly smell of death

Embrace the air

Upon pyre

an effigy burns

as the fumes assault her senses

wispy smoke to imbue

and enters the

Dimension of life light and grave

Tangle with demons

and lives to save

Amulet in hand

The only hope

As ripples of blood mingles with sand

Flow like a ghost rivers

Freely from her face

Then from a distance

Celestial …angel of light appears

Ignite the spirit with power within

A propitiatory sacrifice of hope

Another ritual by night

Holy Guacamole, Trish!! I love this! Dark, mysterious, languid with rich images of demon-love; simmering torridness and wonderful timing and cadenced flow fly into the gargoyled castle I keep in the shuttered part of my mind as:

"As ripples of blood mingles with sand
Flow like a ghost rivers
Freely from her face"

A beauty of a piece, rich and provacative. :)
