LOVE AND DIGNITY

My gray hair has dignity
It tells of pathways
Threading time
It tells the story of my years
It saddens me yet brings me envy
It’s coming
May cure
My loneliness
My thoughts are deep
Beyond all fathoming
Thoughts I discover
Discover what they are
I know they beyond reach
You are silent
Unaware of me
And I
Unable to communicate
I do not know you anymore
I read your eyes
And it spell out sorrow
And I see the tuff spoon that you use
Adding the tears that dim my eyes
My thoughts are not with here and now
Things I see are far away
Yes far away
Deep in the waters
Where they have spread
Soft and wide
Like I grow old
Within those depths
Un movingly I stare
If only I could speak
I could write
I long to hear and understand
But you do not answer me
But gray hair speaks
And dignity awakens love
Love and envy
In my heart
Speak to me
My love
