“Heartbeat”

If you could listen to my heartbeat
A song it will become
A song of love like the ocean breeze
It has the rhythm of a disco-drum
But the dance of a pink flamingo in love
O! Darling what a song this could be
If you would listen to the sound
Of two hearts beating in duet
What does it matter if we out of tune
That is what is called “Unique”
I am standing at the window
And I listen to the falling rain
Each raindrop a melody of love
The wind blows in full harmony
And my eyes are getting wet
Longing to be with you right now
As I stand here like a fragile plant
Thinking…

Is this feeling called love?
Darling my love for you
It’s more than these lines that I pen down
As the rain keep on pouring
I will pour my love on this page
Keep telling you about my love so strong
Just say that you love me too
Just say that you need me
The same way I need you
Can you hear my heartbeat?
It beats for you!!

Epiphany by Gary Stephens

“We’re going to use nine megaton warheads in space and we’re not sure they’re large enough to be effective. Why would you even consider using kiloton-range surface-to-air warheads as back-up?” The answer was succinct. “Because they’re all we have.”
