“Eyes Of The Beholder”
Through these eyes I watch
As waves crash and roll upon the shore
Through these eyes I see
Rivers over flowing
Carrying their cargo
Debris of broken souls
Washed and sifted and dumped
Within the belly of mother ocean
As waves crash and roll out…
Reflections of beauty now gone
Washed and crushed by ebb and flow
Slowly but effectively
She spits them out
Upon shores of devastation now
You see grains of sand swept away
Through eyes of the beholder
As white collared waves just wash away
Devastation of yesterday
And leave upon shores
Debris of sorrows
Scattered between grains of sand

It makes me think of Katrina........one year later....how many grains of sand WERE swept away, and how much debris of sorrows, STILL LIES, scattered between grains of sand...
Outstanding, though heart-wrenching, esp. with the music and photo!
Love you, Rhonda
Sometimes the ocean is so peaceful and soothing while at other times it can be so rough.
Within the debris of sorrows
lie the hopes for our tomorrows.
Let us, therefore, be treasure seekers.

A very soulful and expressive poem that lays bare your emotions, in superb metaphor and description..
The flotsam and jetsam that is washed ashore in life tells the epic tale of human endurance and struggle..
Absolutely brilliant composition
