“Lost Flight”

As I explained it all before

Sorrow made me wise…knowing pain

Does not mean knowing less

Now it became my philosophy in life

When all alone where no one can see me

To cry my bloody heart out

And believe me it’s true

I am no longer afraid to do just that

To become snotty like a brat

Because it does relieve the pain

Hidden deep inside my heart

They did not believe once

When I said…love out of sight

Does not mean it’s not for real

And today as I walked down the shore

I had you on my mind sweetheart

And on a solo flight of my own

Tears ran down my face in howling winds

I lost my wings… could not fly to high

And landed on my knees beside you

When I whispered your name

Face down in the sand

And for a fleeting moment

Prayed for wisdom

OH Tinka!!! I keep saying I'm reading everything back to front tonight... but wish you'd bin on MY beach today... sounds like we were doing the same escape-trick, but from polar perspectives. My "twin poem" would have bin for you too... somethin about being wrapped in an invisibility cloak on the misty ramparts of a derelict castle ruin, lost in the mists of time but living in that special moment to which the whole of our life is attached... somethin like that anyways... haven't written it yet! But yep... givin way to the deeply submerged griefs in life can be as a necessary cleansing purge... and where better to get rid of it all, but on a beach where the winds and waves just scoop it all up and carry it away... May answers to prayer and deep relief be yours, Honey. LOL K xx

A poignant reflection that conveys the fragility of our humanness dipped in aching tears. The shortest verse in the New Testament reads, 'Jesus wept' In that fleeting moment God would have also received your pain as prayer.

I've learned how to cry in plain sight; I hide my tears behind big sunglasses. Love is real as long as it is only out of sight. If it's out of touch too...then it is not for real. A lesson I learned the hard way. ~ Sara

Tinka, I'm so thoughtful you pour everything of yourself into what you write. it opens the door for those of us who hold back at times. sometimes it takes life knocking us down through loss or otherwise so that we do fall on our knees and pray. Dawn
