“Drowning”

Her stress level is higher

Than a 12 meter oceanic wave

The inner pain that cannot bridge

The turmoil of her life

The tube surrounding her

Comes crashing down on her

Within the tunnel of darkness

Emotionally drowning

In constant sorrows

Once the delight of a Surfer

The pillars she depended on

No longer secure in standing

Upon surfboard of insecurity

An outstanding analogy Sissy. Depending on another can be as fickle as a wave breaking, or as unstable and prone to breakage as a surfboard. Exceptional write ...

All great surfers get knocked in the water sometimes.
It's apart of conquering the waves of life.

A optimist opens the oyster expecting to find a pearl.
A pesimist throw the unopen oyster because it isn't a pearl there.
If we consider pain or stress as our life's oyster, we should find a pearl inside.

VEry deep and stunning imagery that looks at the affect of stress as seen through a poets eye. Well done.

Tinka,
The waves of life vary, and while some can be ridden with the proper perspective, others catch you at your weakest moment. Well written, as always.

We all have a lot in common and pain is one of them. We condition pain differently too and, sadly, there are those who pain takes to bed and it kills them. Sweetdreams Tink and may the next great wave a;;ow you to conquere your pain.

Very fine craftsmanship in this extended metaphor of a write skimming along the ebb and flow of depression battling its way toward a renewal of joy. Always a pleasure to receive with gratitude the gifts of your pen.
