Authors Note:

I am doing okay...this is not a reflection on my life right now...but surely did awhile back

*********

Middle Of The Night

This is the middle of the night

No movement in this lonely hour

Just the rhythm of my heart beats louder

You have slaughtered my heart out

And left me to bleed

This is the middle if the night

I have no will to fight

As I look to the stars so bright

It is bitterly cold as I hold my breath

Just thinking about life and death

This is the middle of the night

Life has lost all its delight

I have done everything in my might

To keep this pain out of sight

Without picking another fight

This is the middle of my life

What can I do to survive?

Knowing I am still a wife

Without happiness in her life

I no longer wish to live

Hanging over this cliff

In the middle of denial

I could not walk another mile

Without the will to smile

This is not worthwhile

You have slaughtered my heart out

And left me to bleed

I the middle the night

This is truly a devastating turn for a heart that beats profoundly in the night...there is very little relief but what is offered by the passing of time. I am glad this is no longer an event you go through and have warmed instead to the light.

Hi Tinka, I can relate to this one 100%! You have accurately expressed the depths of pain and sadness of someone who no longer finds contentment and happiness in a relationship. And I am glad that you have moved on beautifully. Thank you for sharing.

Be well,
Sheri

Gut-wrenching, Tinks. But so real. I am sorry for this pain. Your lines are beautiful and brave. And full of stout-hearted resiliance, too. I am so glad you got through this. This poem shows how and why: "The will to smile" is part of who and what you are and how it is that you remain so. You rock! Love, Kate xx

There are some words that evoke some familiar feeling. Sadly familiar.

You wrote this with the words and energy of despair. I am glad you could come out of this. I hope that I will soon.

Sometimes life can seem overwhelming. Your words prior to the poem remind me of the French proverb: Après la pluie, le beau temps" which translates as: "After the rain, the good weather." Love and best wishes to you, TinkaSweets,

Tinks, you write so poignantly about such a sensitive subject. I'd love you to take a look at a friend's site called 'Abuse is no Excuse' and maybe join the forum. You'd have so much insight to offer. The link is: http://www.abuseisnoexcuse.co.za/

I am glad that the dark times are behind you now, Tinka, we do worry about you when you write such dark poetry! However I can understand: it is hard to forget all that one has gone through when they've been abused as you have, and I am sorry you had to endure this hell. Very well penned; brava! Keep writing; it will help you in the long run!!

(((HUGS))) and much love, your friend in America, Karen Lynn in Texas. :(
