This is Not written by me...I am posting it for a girl who would like to know what you think of her work!!

Memoir

I can’t answer myself.

In my dreams I see many things of which I do not understand

And as time goes by it becomes visible to me.

My center is red with green and blue around it changing slowly.

This tells me I’m on the right path

For now!

Wanting things I never had as a child and adult,

All I ask is to belong and have the feeling of safety

Which has been in and out of my life!

DONT be afraid

To speak your mind even thou it feels as if you are shouting. PROTEST till you are heard,

And your heart will let you down…like the way the sun sets each night

Be bold and daring when it suits you and only

You walk proud even when you are down.

When sunlight becomes night it brings with it peace and

The nightmares of life, which I cannot run from

No matter how hard I try!

And I look back and I’m

Engulfed by the flames of life and as I burn I feel

I feel the flesh of my bodily sins burning the way

My heartbeats truth is the water that saves you from

Being engulfed always be truthful to your self so that

You are truthful to those who love you.

You will be like a bird being set free!

Nice work...the never ending struggle to find the path of truth is at times within one's own reality...one knows where it is and must stand side by side so as to be free from the untruth of this world...

nice...

Thank you Tanya and Tinka for sharing. I liked the original and I feel it takes a lot to be on the outside looking in at ones self, if are truthful to yourself then it comes natural to be truthful to others. Great write.

To look inside one's self takes courage, but to articulate it - even greater internal strength. Well said, Tanya. To me, the first rendition speaks with greater authority and understanding.

Tinka - thank you for sharing Tanya's poem. Kathy

Strong language well used. Personally I found the original form to be preferable. <IMHO>

I would like to see Tanya working with concrete images in that same bold, strong language. Poetry needs feet so that it can stand boldly upon the ground. Looking forward to seeing more of Tanya's work
