I prefer darkness when I am down.
Where no one can see me and my face is hidden.
I prefer darkness when I don't want to be around.
I don't want to see all those people who hurt me.
But when I come out of the dark and sunlight is exposed.
I feel the warmth of my Creator and once again I know.
The darkness is not really a good place to be.
With strength of the Lord I can choose light over darkness.
Yes, His light is what is best for you and for me.

You have said what I have felt in my soul for decades. Shhhhh or the light may hear you and wake me up from my fitful dream. But they won't slow down though knowing they can trample through the underbrush of our dreams and sidestep the thorns and poison ivy. This is very well written and speaks mountains in so few words.
