Here it's a misty morning where Dixie shines through grays
Its like a spring time blossom, not like a summer's day
The sun is on the other side just like a bright new smile
Except for cloaks of milky foam it'd be a day so fine
Now and then a sparkle , a string all golden bred
Shoots through like jeweled silk strung out on liquid thread
It rains a mist of silver and when a palm extends
It dresses down the fingers and to the heart extends
Funny how a day becomes much more for a thought
When beads of fluid love is palmed , caressed, absorbed and caught
Weekend days in Dixie , all warm and not forgotten
Another memory stays with me... steeped in gentle cotton
Dressed in kind with softness close against the flesh
Emotionally enamored by days that seem to mesh
The likeness of yesterday, the dejavu of bliss
I love the dreary days like this and all the times I missed
Wallowing indoors, rummaging through old things
Opening up rusted tears upon awakening old dreams.
This may be a sudden flash of poetic inspiration delivered on the wings of a muse of prayer, but it will endure for a lifetime - not just the whole two minutes! I love the exhilaration in this, but also the subtle, almost misty autumnal flavours too as you weave past, present and future. There is a golden thread to this write which is what makes it timeless. And you use some beautifully evocative imagery and expression here, too: "The likeness of yesterday, the dejavu of bliss". This is a mature, miniature masterpiece... very well done, TY Kate xx

Thank you for this poem. You have it all in this poem- unforced rhyming, great, unique descriptions, a good flow and though much is said, it is all worth saying, if you know what I mean. This is a poem that shows much skill in the art of writing poetry.
What the hell can I say that has not been said? Stunning? Yep. Beautiful? Yep. Lovely . . . Gentle? Yep. Emotive? Yep. Oh. I know. I can say that I love that you saw fit to start your poem off with, "shines through grays." If that phrase doesn't mean what I think it meant, sorry.

Susan...you made me long for the Smokies when I read this.
Your images are gorgeously striking! To me, a lover of the
southern misty mornings, they brought back happy memories.
Those "rusted tears," can be polished away with the cleansing
of a real love...but you already know that, don't you?

Susan, this is stunning work. A very well-written enjoyable composition my friend. One must sometimes unfortunately, shed some rusty tears and make way for better days ahead.
