Poem Artwork

In the solace of an evening,
On a street lined with oaks...
Blonde follicles that liven...
Movements that provoke
Eyes that bounce...in their socket...
Sparks that fly...retro rockets
Phosphorous of fireflies glimmer...
Loop and dodge...dimmer dimmer
Pacing steps with each pant...
Legs high steppin...thighs that dance...
Baying Basset...chasing sparks...
Lightening insects in the dark
Nighthawk squeals his dining call
Breasts are dancing...bouncing balls...
Licking flashes...fly through night
Steppin faster...sweat that fights
Paces toying...wounds to heal
Memories chasing thoughts....until
Exasperated female wiles
Court each one and gently files
Away the pains...and catches up..
With lanterned bugs and long eared pups
Marsh that beckons...teasing pains
Tears to lick and smiles to gain.
Night path moves within her steps...
Quickened grounds that give in...depth
Each new step completes the pace...
Moods swing yonder...saving grace...
Stars upon her shoulders there
Dancing congas in her hair...
Flecks upon each hollowed spot
Dots of lightning skip and hop
Reeds that live each shouldered life
High top joggin...slicing night
Quiet is broken til next time
Step on a dollar...give in a dime..
Ounces of loving...pounding away
Echoed hearts...another day.

Love the way the lines of IN THE SOLACE OF AN EVENING settle upon the soul of the reader like a blanket of soft ecstasy knitted from moments of magical meditation. Stunning image, stunning words.

Susan
The Dance of Life in all its eccentricities and paradoxes, your use of imagery and imaginative wordage, gives fresh impetus and meaning to your verse...
The graphic is absolutely stunning....
Though some are reviewing our works, there are many more viewing it, without leaving their calling card....be assured !

In The Solace of An Evening is a ceremony! This is the kind of poem to be used in domestic pagan rituals, Susan! The Goddess ROCKS!

THIS is good. You perused the many facets of love and lust and human attraction, combined with faint echoes of spirituality. I really like your seven count style AND the unique way you go about explaining things with absolute wonderful cadence. Unique. You are.

Sheuuuuuuw ! ! ! I want you to stop doing that to me - this early in the morning! Your wonderful words winningly woven into the fabric of life... just plain wear me out. I love it. Admire especially, the continuity you are able to bring to a lingering and lovely story of zestful living. - Bill

Intrinsic story that the reader my friend shares with her writers. Images and colors dance along together in a slow waltz of love and life and what the world is like. I love it Sue and if you are listening come say hi at yahoo.
